MAFA Final Exhibition

The MA Fine Arts (MAFA) Interim Show exhibits the works of 67 artists, students of the MAFA. Artists work on several different mediums such as painting, photography, video-art, performance, sculpture and installation. The show opens with a private view on January 31st and concludes on the 3rd of February. It takes place at four floors of the Barge House, for the third year in a row at this venue. The MAFA administration has been collaborating with curators to run this yearly show. This year it invited students of the MA Creative Practice for Narrative Environments course to curate the show.

Rationale

The main responsibility of the curatorial team is to design the exhibition, meaningfully and functionally, positioning the art works in the Barge House spaces. Curators need to:

Familiarize with the Barge House spaces, discuss with the artists about the work they will exhibit, provide an opportunity for artists to develop their works, and facilitate a dialogue between Part Time and Full Time students. Upon seeing their works side by side, Curators then come up with an exhibition concept, defining the positioning of each art work while achieving a consensus regarding the exhibition concept and planning.
